Sponsor a Man in the Program
When the Good Samaritan became involved in the life of the wounded man in the ditch, Luke 10:29-36, he committed himself to the man’s total recovery. We ask sponsors to commit themselves to the man they are sponsoring by bringing him to A Place of Restoration, aiding him while he is here, and helping him when he is ready to leave. Aftercare is often the most neglected area of regeneration. The following are some helpful suggestions when sponsoring a man:
Camp Needs
- Pray for the man and his family daily
- Communicate with him regularly by letter or personal visits. Some of our men never receive a letter during their entire stay
- Keep in contact with the man’s family
- Help the man readjust after he graduates. Your involvement may greatly influence his success
- Before approaching the man about a job, we suggest you contact a program counselor and ask about the man’s readiness to leave the program
Camp Needs
- Sponsor a SLT man in the Program
- Ongoing needs: Toiletries for the men ie.. shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, bath soap, towels.....
- General needs: Toilet tissue, napkins, paper towels, hand sanitizer....
Industry
At a Place of Restoration, we believe that part of teaching Godly character comes with a strong work ethic. We have a landscaping business to provide both work ethic and finances to this ministry. All profits from this business go directly to the ministry. When you hire A Place of Restoration for your landscaping needs, you receive a professional job and you are also investing into someone’s life. We thank you for your support and look forward to serving you.
Cooking Ministry
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"
Matthew 25:35-40
The Ministry
APOR relies on the support of the church family.
One of the ways we can support them is through the cooking ministry. If you would like to join this ministry by cooking a monthly meal or cooking as often as you would like, we would love to have you on our team.
Any support is appreciated!
